The Lead Poison Awareness Program (LEPAP) is tailored to educate the huge existing patronage of e-waste activities being done without proper precautions posing a threat to most ‘scrap dealers’ within and around Agbobloshie and it environs.
A result from a field survey conducted on the area is already indicating prevalence of the menace Lead and other forms of complications like severe malaria and mental illness.
Expected Outcome:
This initiative would greatly transform the environmental standards and more especially derive lots of benefits from the methods of recycling e- waste would go to ahead to contribute effectively to the nation’s GDP which will be evident in the following Also the following impact would be made:
1. Reduces unemployment rate (local manufactures of steel bars, machine oil , flower pots, machine oil, etc. for other industries)
2. Positive and Supportive behavioral changes (becoming role models or examples to check existing system )
3. Massive youth participation as strong advocates for this policy.(through workshops,
campaigns, concerts, etc.)
