AKO Foundation is an environmental advocacy organization based in Accra, Ghana focusing on environmental education, chemical and waste management, youth in agribusiness and women in climate change.

AKO Foundation invests in the extraordinary potential of young people by facilitating the attraction of youth into mainstream agricultural activities. AKO designs programs such as training for young farmers on the impact of agricultural chemical inputs on environment, hold agricultural fairs and summits to exchange knowledge and best practices in the agricultural sector and to showcase the positive stories from Agriculture to youth whiles connecting them to funders, market information and new best practices. AKO believes that Agriculture has a great potential of addressing the increasing rate of youth unemployment but it is only possible when agriculture is made “sexy” to young people.
